With the temperatures fluctuating so much lately (especially in NYC) you have to be able to adjust to the weather and still look the part. In my recent collaboration with Spectre on their Winter Look Book we highlighted the Wool Body Warmer Vest, which is not as heavy as an overcoat but will stay true to its namesake and keep you warm. At the same time it will add a ton of flavor to your outfit and set you apart from the everyday young professional wearing a navy suit to the office. I thoroughly enjoyed the way all the patterns and fabrics came together to create one sound accord. Gents, please remember during the winter it is the perfect time to test the limits of layers, textures, patterns, etc. Lets also not forget my suggestion from my first post about choosing a solid color tie when wearing a heavy patterned shirt. The same logic applies for this plaid vest. The chunky wool tie compliments the subtle hint of brown in the vest and gives the outfit a very rustic look. If you want to dig deeper on the subject of pattern mixing, Fashion Beans has a great article I came across a while a go that goes into more detail. Lastly, if you live in NYC please check out Spectre in person at The Chelsea Market Arts and Fleas at The Chelsea Market when you get a chance and tell Jeff I sent you.

Weekends are meant for relaxing, spending time with friends and most importantly dressing down. Yes, during the week we all are in our prime and neat business attire, conquering anything in our way but on the weekend we all like to express ourselves a little more whether that is by wearing sweats and lounging on the couch or braving the winter cold and layering up with multiple articles of clothing. On the weekends you can usually catch me in my grey overcoat from Zara (it’s over 2 years old and haven’t seen one similar since) and nice distressed blue jeans. I seriously only have 3 pairs of jeans so it’s a very tight rotation. Another frequent weekend gem is the Denim Shirt. Every gent should have one in his arsenal; it shows that you are hip but still keeping it casual. Lastly, if you are trying to make a fashion statement you have to get a “Pharrell” hat. It is definitely a hot item right now, but make sure to go to a professional hat store. Urban Outfitters, H&M, Zara do not count. Go to J.J. hat, Flamekeepers Hat Club or World of Hats, to name a few if you are located in NYC. Do not fret; I will soon be doing a series on the best hats, jeans, man bags, etc. Stay tuned!!

Ok ok ok, everyone knows black is back. All black everything, black leather, matte black. We get it already right? What people may be missing the boat on is society's emerging new favorite color, "Verde" also known as Green. Lately, my entire closet has seen many new additions of weekender bags, rain coats, "Pharrell hats" and all these new additions are the color green. Not just any green, but forest green. So now to feature my latest addition of green attire, made to measure trousers from Cesar Renuan.  Since I knew I was not going to be wearing these bad boys to work, I thought I should pimp them out a bit.  I had them retrofitted (yes I said it ha) with all the cool bells and whistles which included side adjusters (this means this is a no belt loop zone), 1 inch chunky cuff, and a very aggressive hem around 1.5 inches higher than normal to add an old school look. I even had buttons put on the inside for the use of classic button hole suspenders (will be putting those to use frequently during the summer time). Ok gents, now that you know society's emerging new favorite color, go get something Verde!!

Greetings, welcome to Wall Street Paper! This is the inaugural post for the blog.  In the spirit of The Ohio State Buckeyes winning the National Championship a week or so ago, I thought it was a no brainer to represent my alma mater in the first post. Lets get started!! With this look I kept it very simple and clean up top and then really spiced it up at the bottom. Many of us work in a corporate environment where its really hard to show personality and be different. A few ways to add flavor to your appearance at your everyday desk job are with funky patterned shirts, fun ties, a custom inside lining of the suit jacket, animated socks and sometimes you can switch up the shoe game with a double monk or even suede!

With this look I went with an awesome green and blue paisley lining of my jacket that really pops when you open it, a window paned wide collar dress shirt and red Christmas reindeer themed socks. Remember when adding personality to work attire you have to be careful.  If you are wearing a patterned shirt, then you would probably want to wear a solid color tie to keep people from becoming crossed eyed when they see you walk into the office in the morning.  Also with the socks, please feel free to get crazy and go all the way to the moon and back with cool designs.  Socks are the easiest/most affordable way to let people know you may know a thing or two about dressing well. Lastly, accessorize, accessorize, and accessorize!! Having cool bracelets, a watch with a changeable band, and any other wrist wear can really add character and compliment your daily attire.

Well I hope you enjoyed the first post for the blog.  Let me know what you think about the blog. Please stay tune for next weeks #DapperMonday post!!
